Bibby HydroMap to present d’ROP® to The Hydrographic Society in Scotland

26.10.2015
Seabed survey company Bibby HydroMap will be presenting their survey ROV d’ROP to The Hydrographic Society in Scotland later this month in Aberdeen.

Titled “The d’ROP®; a new approach to shallow water survey and asset inspection operations”, Bibby HydroMap Project Manager Simon Baldwin and Engineering Manager Colin Burke will discuss the capabilities and performance of the system since its launch earlier this year. The d’ROP has been designed to offer a remotely operated survey platform capable of operating effectively and cost efficiently in dynamic marine environments, whilst accommodating various survey sensors, including PanGeo’s SBI.

Simon was responsible for the successful completion of a large integrated marine survey utilising the d’ROP platform with PanGeo’s SBI in challenging environmental conditions, and has worked closely with the development team. Commenting on recent results, Simon states: “We have been very impressed with the quality of data acquired using the combination of d’ROP and SBI. This has been the first real test of its capabilities and we are very pleased with its performance on the project.”

The presentations take place on the 28th October at 19:00 at the Carmelite Hotel in Aberdeen.
