Equinor has Awarded IKM Ocean Design a Pipeline Study for Ultra Deepwater in Brazil

09.03.2020
The scope includes a pipeline concept study for gas export from the BM-C-33 field to the coast of the Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil.

Located in the southwest Campos basin approximately 200 km offshore, the BM-C-33 block is operated by Equinor Energy dos Brazil and was awarded during the 2015 bid round. The field is situated in the lower continental slope in water depths of 2600 - 2900 m and includes three ultra-deepwater discoveries – Pão de Açucar, Gávea, and Seat. BM-C-33 is one of the deepest field developments offshore Brazil currently being evaluated.

CEO of IKM Ocean Design, Peder Hoås, says we are very proud to support Equinor in the development phase of this internationally important ultra-deep-water field. This work will be a continuation of the IKM Ocean Design commitment to support Equinor’s major projects with innovative and cost-effective solutions, which has been demonstrated during execution of the Johan Sverdrup, Johan Castberg and Troll Phase 3 as well as other projects.
