MTCS LTD goes further afield to combat downturn

MTCS (Maritime training and Competence services) specialising in Subsea training was used to dispatching a trainer a week to Aberdeen to deliver High Voltage Safety Awareness, Assessor Skills or technical training to the various array of oil companies supplying the Oil and gas businesses in and on the outskirts of the city. Since the price of oil has dropped through the floor in the last 6 months they are finding they need to go further afield to secure business. The 5 hour car journey to the Granite City has been replaced by somewhat longer haul flights. This week trainers are in Trinidad, Hong Kong and Singapore delivering a range of safety and technical training.

Although MTCS already deliver worldwide, the Hong Kong company COOEC is a new client. Its market covers all Chinese sea areas and extends to the Middle East, the Southeast Asia and ROK. It has provided high-quality services for China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), Shell, BP, CACT Operators Group, AMOCO, ARCO, Phillips, Texaco, Total, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hyundai Heavy Industries and other famous companies both at home and aboard. Furthermore, it has conducted the general design, construction, offshore installation and commissioning of oil and gas fields under different environmental conditions and oil product characteristics. In particular, it has participated in or organised the construction of all oil and gas fields in Bohai Sea Region.

Trinidad wont be much hardship for a trainer to spend just over two weeks on the island, delivering ROV training through a local agent Cocoon Ltd. When not working the temperature is a sunny 31 degrees and just look at the view!
