Construction commenced at the start of 2022, with the workshop and ROV test tank in place, the main building framework installed and clad, with construction now focused on internal fit-out and build. Film-Ocean aims to take occupancy of the new sight in November 2022.

ISFMD V3 provides a highly intuitive yet simple to use flooded member detection system for deployment by divers or ROVs. The system provides capability to test and store results for multiple members at a time. Multiple members can be preconfigured prior to commencing the survey with details of diameter, length and angle. Multiple readings can be logged per member, including at different test positions around the member.

Aberdeenshire-based subsea firm Aleron Group has acquired electrical drive engineering specialist IMPAQ Ltd. to support its expansion strategy into new technology and markets including military, defence and nuclear industries. Following the deal, the Group has been awarded its first contract in the academic sector.

M2 Subsea, the global independent provider of ROV services, has unveiled its recently commissioned purpose-built test tank at the company’s base in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. The indoor fresh water tank, which can hold 73,600 litres of water, has been created for the primary purpose of testing ROVs and ancillary equipment. The facility will allow the company to be in total control from the planning to completion of asset testing, ensuring the quality and rapid turnaround of results before they are deployed for both domestic and international projects. The tank is commercially available for subsea manufacturers and service providers to rent, along with or without M2 Subsea’s ROV fleet. The facility has already been successfully used by Acteon Group for product testing.

Global subsea equipment specialist, Ashtead Technology, put the spotlight on the latest subsea technology yesterday at its annual Technology Showcase event. Hosted at the company’s purpose built facility in Westhill, Aberdeenshire, the event welcomed more than 140 industry peers to highlight the latest tools, products and services from leading subsea manufacturers.

Osprey3 announces further investment to enhance its Operations division with the appointment of Kevin Jamieson as Operations Manager. Based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, Osprey3 manufacture and supply filtration equipment to remove solids, contaminants, toxins and hydrocarbons from fluids created during Petrochemical production. With sales and rental capacity well established, the investment in the Operations team will give clients the option of having Osprey3 provide complete project management services inclusive of manufacturer-trained personnel to mobilise at short notice and to client locations in support of hired or purchased equipment.
