Hydroid, Inc. Delivers REMUS 300 UUV to U.S. Navy

The 305 meter-rated UUV is being evaluated for the Next Generation Small-Class UUV program Summary: • New REMUS 300 UUV delivered to the U.S. Navy for evaluation • Modularity allows for reconfigurable payloads, sensors and energy modules • Open architecture platform with Hardware Development Kit and Software Development Kit • Commercially available for order by the second quarter of 2020 Hydroid, Inc., a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and a leading manufacturer of marine robotic systems, today announced they have delivered the first REMUS 300 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) prototype to the U.S. Navy through the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) has accepted and is characterizing the REMUS 300. This new, modular UUV will be assessed over the next year as a potential solution for the Next Generation Small-Class UUV (SUUV) program for the Navy.

Kongsberg Maritime Signs Agreement to Sell its Subsidiary Hydroid and Enter into Alliance to Provide Future Solutions to the US Navy

Kongsberg Maritime AS has signed an agreement to sell its underwater technology company Hydroid, Inc. for USD 350 million to Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII), the largest supplier of vessels to the US Navy. The agreement provides that, as of closing, the parties will enter into a strategic alliance agreement concerning underwater technology and maritime solutions.

Hydroid Recognizes Royal Netherlands Navy as Authorized REMUS Service Center

Hydroid, Inc., a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime and a leading manufacturer of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), today announced that it has recognized the Sensor & Weapon Systems Department within the Royal Netherlands Navy's Directorate of Materiel Sustainment as an authorized REMUS Service Center. Hydroid presented the Directorate with a plaque on September 12, 2018 recognizing its commitment to excellence in AUV service and technical expertise.
