Offshore Innovators Train Guyanese Engineers in Subsea Robotics

Offshore Innovators Guyana Inc has recruited and trained a team of five Guyanese engineers in Subsea Robotics to support deep-water operations offshore Guyana. The world-class training experience was hosted by Subsea Specialist Ltd at the Deepwater Hub in Chaguaramas, Trinidad, and delivered by Carlos Sardinha of Blue Laguna Inc US.

One well – two discoveries in the Norwegian Sea

Equinor and its partners Ineos E&P and Faroe Petroleum have made an oil and gas discovery in exploration well Snadd Outer Outer/Black Vulture in production licence 159B in the Norwegian Sea. The well had two different reservoir targets; an upper drilling target containing 2-12 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) of gas and a lower target with an estimated volume of 1-48 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent.

Contract for HUGIN Superior

Kongsberg Maritime is pleased to report that it has signed the first contract for the new HUGIN® Superior 6000-meter rated AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle). HUGIN® Superior was introduced to the market in December 2018 and provides significantly enhanced data, positioning and endurance capabilities while building on the proven track record of the HUGIN® AUVs. The complete AUV system will be delivered in DNV certified offshore containers along with a portable version of Kongsberg’s HiPAP 502 acoustic positioning system for easy mobilization onboard vessels of opportunity.

iXblue selected to conduct future Groix & Belle-Île pilot wind farm geophysical survey

iXblue’s Sea Operations division has been selected by EOLFI, the “Ferme Eolienne Flottante de Groix & Belle-Île” delegated project contactor, to conduct the geophysical survey of the future Groix & Belle-Île pilot wind farm located in the South of Brittany, off the West coast of France. The survey, that began earlier this week, will last for about five days and will be conducted by a dedicated crew of 5 iXblue hydrographic surveyors and geophysicist engineers onboard the company’s own Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) hydrographic research vessel, FeliX.
