Hydromea Successfully Trials its Wireless ROV System at TotalEnergies Offshore Site in the North Sea

Hydromea successfully trialed EXRAY, its wireless underwater ROV system, within a full ballast water tank on one of TotalEnergies’ North Sea floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels during November 2021. EXRAY was deployed to collect visual inspection data, validating system performance including wireless navigation and wireless communication.

These past 3 years, TotalEnergies have been collaborating with FORSSEA to qualify the ATOLL ROV, dedicated to fast LBL deployment and recovery. ATOLL uses a robotized latching system guided by visual aided docking algorithms. Each LBL temporary frame or acoustic transponder must be equipped a bullet to allow quick interfacing with the ATOLL ROV.

C-Kore Signs First Brazilian Contract with TechnipFMC for Petrobras’ Mero 1 Project

C-Kore Systems recently signed a contract with TechnipFMC in Brazil for delivery of their sub-sea testing tools for the Mero 1 project, in which Petrobras (40%) acts as Operator of the Libra Consortium, formed by the companies Shell Brasil (20%), TotalEnergies (20%), CNODC (10%) and CNOOC Limited (10%), with Pré-sal Petróleo S.A. – PPSA, as the manager of the Production Sharing Contract. The C-Kore tools will be used to perform the subsea electrical verification of the umbilicals after installation.

Maersk Drilling Secures One-well Contract Extension with Total in Suriname

Total E&P Suriname, Suriname Branch has exercised an option to add the drilling of one additional appraisal well in Suriname’s Block 58 to the work scope of the semi-submersible rig Mærsk Developer. The contract extension has an estimated duration of 100 days, with work expected to commence in end-May 2021 in direct continuation of the rig’s previously agreed work scope. The contract value of the extension is approximately USD 20m, including integrated services provided.

Surveys Underway for Erebus Floating Wind Project

Blue Gem Wind, the joint venture between Total and Simply Blue Energy, has begun its 2021 Celtic Sea offshore survey campaign. GEOxyz has started geophysical survey work at the Erebus floating wind site, which is 45km south-west of the Pembrokeshire coastline. Offshore surveys are due to last until mid-June.

Fugro Wins HSE Partnership of the Year Award from Total

Total E&P UK Ltd (Total) has presented Fugro with their prestigious ‘Partnership of the Year 2019’ award at their annual HSE award ceremony. Fugro won the award after completing 122 days of successful inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) operations across all Total UK offshore facilities in 2019 using their remotely operated vehicle (ROV) support vessel Skandi Carla.

Equinor collaborates with Microsoft on Northern Lights carbon capture and storage value chain

Equinor has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft to explore ways to support the Northern Lights carbon capture and storage (CCS) project as a technology partner. Microsoft will explore using the project to enable the transportation and storage of captured CO2 . Equinor is developing the project together with Shell and Total as equal partners.

C-Kore Supports Total with Subsea Testing Operations in the North Sea

C-Kore Systems deployed their Subsea Testing tools on Total’s Greater Laggan Area, West of Shetland to perform electrical testing on the field’s umbilicals. With the fast and accurate data provided by C-Kore’s Subsea TDR, discontinuities were quickly located, saving time and money compared to traditional subsea testing techniques.
