Ocean Business 2015 Registrations up 32% - a Record Breaking All Time High

20.03.2015
Ocean Business 2015, which takes place from 14 - 16 April 2015 at the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, UK, is expecting a record breaking number of visitors next month.

Versha Carter, Group Director for Ocean Business, commented, “One month out from the show, visitor registrations are up an incredible 32% on 2013. It’s very reassuring that despite the price of oil and the uncertainty that this creates within the industry, visitor numbers are growing and we look set to deliver our largest Ocean Business yet!”

The organisers have also experienced a far greater diversity of international visitors, with over 50 different countries represented so far. Ms Carter continued, “With such a well-established show, it’s easy to forget just how significant Ocean Business is to the industry. Not only does it bring together over 5000 international visitors, but it presents the latest technologies, through an exhibition and live demonstrations, from nearly 350 of the world’s leading manufacturers.”

Ocean Business 2015 provides the widest representation of technologies across the industry, reflecting all sectors of business. With so much support from the ocean community it has become a centre for related industry events and Ocean Business 2015 sees the greatest number of high profile events yet. These range from a one day seminar on the Blue Economy run by The Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO), to meetings hosted by The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) and the Canadian High Commission. Also running alongside Ocean Business will be the Offshore Survey conference which is a lively two-day conference focusing on the latest technologies and business issues facing the global field of offshore surveying (more information at: www.offshoresurvey.co.uk).

As well as these events, there will be a vibrant schedule of social activities at Ocean Business. These are always brimming with visitors, providing a fantastic opportunity for networking, and include a drinks reception on the evening of Monday 13 April, a sponsored wine trail on Tuesday 14 April, and a gala dinner on Wednesday 15 April held at O2 Guildhall Southampton.

Ocean Careers will be running over the three days to provide recruitment and careers advice. If you are newly qualified or currently seeking work, Ocean Careers can offer direction and inspiration for a career path in this sector (more information at: www.oceanbusiness.com/ocean-careers/).

All in all, Ocean Business 2015 promises to be an unmissable week of energy and action. For FREE registration at this year’s Ocean Business and a full breakdown of activities, please visit: www.oceanbusiness.com.
