The 2019 edition of Breaking the Surface to be the biggest yet

24.05.2019

Breaking the Surface (BTS) 2019 is a 7-day international interdisciplinary workshop on marine robotics and applications, bringing together experts and users from many related fields for the 11th year in a row. The workshop will be held in Biograd na Moru, Croatia from 29th September to 6th October 2019.

Last year’s edition of the conference was attended by over 180 attendees from 18 countries around the world, there were 38 expert lectures from 6 marine robotics related fields of expertise, and 8 new and specialized vehicles were demonstrated. 2018 was also an important year for students, as over 50 of them attended the workshop, using the opportunity to learn more about their field of interest, meet members of the academic community, industry representatives, and to network.

The 2019 edition of BTS is expected to be even more successful: Attendees will have the opportunity to hear lectures from leading maritime robotics, archeology and security, marine biology and geology scientists and business experts. They will also participate in live demonstrations of underwater and surface vehicles, as well as related software, and discover business solutions from companies, develop new technical skills during mentored tutorials, learn from experienced entrepreneurs and enjoy a rich social programme.

Registrations for the event are now open at bts.fer.hr/registration and the early bird deadline is 1st June 2019.

Information about the workshop programme is available on the official website (bts.fer.hr) and will be updated continually. Up-to-date information is also available via the BTS Facebook page (facebook.com/BTSCroatia).

BTS is organized by the Laboratory for Underwater Systems and Technologies (LABUST) of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, and the Center for Underwater Systems and Technologies (CUST).
