Trojan to create 20 jobs following £1m Aberdeen expansion

Trojan Crates, based at Aberdeen Harbour, is looking to create around 20 new jobs after investing £1m in new premises.

The firm which provides crating and packing solutions to the oil and gas industry has invested in new premises close to Aberdeen Airport and additional manufacturing equipment.

The 10,000 sq ft premises in Howe Moss Terrace, Dyce, will help the company increase its manufacturing capabilities in the north east of Scotland.

Trojan Crates sales director, Craig Sim, said: “At Trojan Crates we have always been committed to servicing our clients’ needs with rapid turn-around times.

“Purchasing our new building in Dyce means we can increase our manufacturing giving clients in the oil and gas, subsea and freight forwarding industries an even more demand-driven response.”

Trojan chairman Alistair Paterson added: “Our new capacity at Dyce and our investment in further new technology is part of our strategic growth plan for Trojan Crates.

“We aim to increase our turnover to £7m by 2017. The expansion means we will be increasing our workforce from our current team of over 50 to over 70 over the next two years with newly created posts in manufacturing, sales and administration. ”

Trojan Crates was established in 1979 and remains an independent family business which provides timber crating and custom packing.
