Arctic Technology Conference Returns to North America in 2016

Call for Papers and Distinguished Achievement Awards Open

The Offshore Technology Conference’s (OTC) Arctic Technology Conference (ATC) returns to North America for its fifth event in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, 24–26 October 2016. Located along the “path to the Arctic” — St. John’s is an ideal staging and proving ground for Arctic-related research and offers the global energy industry a strategic North Atlantic base of operations on international shipping lanes and sea routes.

ATC is the world’s most focused, comprehensive technical conference and exhibition offering unprecedented communication and collaboration opportunities about challenges and solutions for the global exploration and development of onshore and offshore Arctic basins. Industry professionals interested in sharing their ideas and expertise should submit abstracts before 28 January 2016 at ArcticTechnologyConference.org. ATC offers a highly specialized technical program, incorporating topics from sponsoring organizations that include resources, drilling, production, export facilities, physical environment, logistics and marine transport, regulatory, and mining. ATC also offers special sessions for discussion of Arctic policy, market outlook, risk management, and standards.

Modeled after the prestigious OTC awards of the same name, the ATC Distinguished Achievement Awards are given to an individual and a company/organization/institution for major technological, humanitarian, environmental and leadership contributions to the industry. In 2015, ATC honored Dan Masterson for Individual Achievement and the Chukchi Sea Environmental Studies Program and its supporting entities — Olgoonik-Fairweather, ConocoPhillips, Shell and Statoil — were recognized for their Companies’ Achievements. Anyone can submit a nomination and nominations remain active for three years. ATC 2016 will also repeat the popular Spotlight on Arctic Technology Awards recognizing innovative new products that provide significant impact for Arctic E&P. These applications, submitted by exhibiting companies, are judged by a panel of qualified E&P professionals. Winners are selected based on the following criteria: New (less than two years old), Innovative, Proven, Broad Interest and Significant Impact.
