New Company Name in the provision of Global Positioning Services

A new name in global positioning services has arrived, thanks to the launch of a new start-up in the marine industry.

Whilst International Geomatics Group may be a new name, those driving the business are well-known to the industry – indeed co-founders and directors Steve Rampton (CEO) and Ken Adams (COO) have a long history in the business, making them ideally positioned to realise the new company’s corporate goals.

International Geomatics will be the marine focus for disruptive DGPS service provision. Core to the delivery of all projects will be its “ICE” (Innovation, Communication, Execution) philosophy which ensures that, throughout the life of the project, the scope is continuously reviewed and the team liaises with the client on project aims to execute safely and reliably, delivering results, on time and on budget.



Steve Rampton’s (CEO) career has spanned over 35 years, bringing him to executive positions such as Chief Development Officer at UTEC Survey Inc; Regional Director at Triton Group Holdings Inc.; Corporate Business Development Manager of Helix Energy Services Group Inc.; Regional Director Americas at Thales Geosolutions Inc.; VP and GM Thales Marsat Ltd and Vice President of NCS International Inc. He has amassed extensive international experience in locations such as the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.

Based in Houston, Steve will assume ultimate responsibility for day-to-day management decisions, and the implementation of the company’s ambitious growth plans.



UK-based Ken Adams (COO) has more than 30 years of offshore oil and gas experience gained across survey, ROV support and trenching. Having spent more than a decade working offshore, Ken has held a variety of management and executive positions including project, operations, technical, business unit and management roles such as General Manager, Regional Manager VP and Managing Director. From 2011 until 2015, Ken was the Chief Technology Officer at UTEC Survey Group.

An engineering graduate of Aberdeen University (MSc.) and The Robert Gordon University (BSc.) in Scotland, Ken is also a Chartered Manager (Cmgr MCMI) and has served as a director on the boards of several companies.
