Cranium Engineering Deploys C-Kore Units Again in Nigeria

C-Kore Systems recently completed another successful campaign with VAYCO Oil tools and their Nigerian partner Cranium Engineering for a major oil operator offshore Nigeria. The CKore tools were used to test the electrical integrity of the subsea assets. With their quick results, the C-Kore tools insured minimum interruptions to the field, reducing the vessel time on the operation while not requiring any additional personnel offshore.

The C-Kore units quickly identified and localised anomalies in the subsea infrastructure saving time and money on the subsea campaign while ensuring the operator gained accurate information to inform the field’s maintenance program. With the automated C-Kore units, no additional offshore personnel were needed to perform the testing.

The operation for a major oil operator in over 1,000m water depth allowed rapid testing of umbilicals and electrical flying leads (EFLs) for regulatory compliance and immediate rectification of subsea faults, saving significant man hours and vessel time. Being automated, the C-Kore units also reduce the number of personnel needed offshore.

The streamlined design makes it possible to connect into hard-to access equipment, such as cylindrical UTAs or high-density connector layouts. Eight of the new units have just been delivered for a fault-finding operation in the North Sea with a major operator.
