Kraken Robotics Announces $9.5 Million Contract with the Navy of a Large Asia Pacific Country

Kraken Robotics announces a $9.5 million contract to supply high-resolution seabed mapping sonar equipment to a navy in Asia-Pacific. The customer cannot be named at this time. Under the scope of the contract, Kraken will deliver its KATFISH™ high-speed minehunting solution. The contract also includes a variety of support and sustainment options, including training, spares and operational support.

Kraken Robotics announces that it has received a purchase order for subsea batteries valued at $16 million. Deliveries will occur in 2023 and 2024. The purchase order includes a significant advance payment. With this order Kraken has now received more than $30 million of purchase orders in the last 6 months for its SeaPower® subsea batteries. Since the beginning of 2022, Kraken has announced more than $120 million of contracts providing us solid visibility for our strong growth trajectory we are on.

Kraken Awarded $50+ Million Navy Contract for Royal Canadian Navy Minehunting Program

Kraken Robotics Inc. (TSX-V: PNG, OTCQB: KRKNF), Canada’s Ocean Company, announced it has been awarded a prime contract with the Government of Canada to provide Remote Minehunting and Disposal Systems (RMDS) for the Department of National Defense (DND). The contract consists of an estimated 24-month acquisition program followed by an initial five-year Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program, which includes options for additional equipment, spare parts, training, and technical support. Formal contract signature and kickoff of the Acquisition program will occur in January 2023. If all options in the Acquisition and ILS programs are selected, the total value will exceed $50 million, consisting of approximately $40 million for Acquisition and $10 million for ILS. Kraken expects margins on this program to be in line with our historical corporate averages. Progress payments will be made over the 24-month term of the acquisition contract.

The order is valued at $1.1 million and is a follow on from a $4.8 million order from the same customer earlier this year. For confidentiality reasons, we cannot disclose the customer’s name. Delivery is expected in Q4.

Kraken Announces CRADA on Pressure Tolerant Batteries with US Navy

Kraken Robotics Inc., Canada’s Ocean Company, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Kraken Robotic Systems Inc, has signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). Under the CRADA, the Battery Certification and Integration Branch, Code 636 of NSWC Carderock, will test Kraken’s pressure tolerant lithium-ion batteries. The testing is expected to take four months to complete and is expect to start in calendar Q3 of this year.

The contract value is $0.5 million and delivery to the customer is expected in 2021. Since March of this year, Kraken has received orders for AquaPix MINSAS 120 Synthetic Aperture Sonars from customers in the US, Europe, and Australia for integration onto three different AUV platforms.

During this campaign, Kraken deployed its new SeaScout® system which consists of Kraken’s KATFISH™ towed synthetic aperture sonar, the Tentacle® winch and Autonomous Launch and Recovery System (ALARS) to conduct ultra-high definition seabed imaging and mapping in Atlantic Canada.
