Saab has received an order from the Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) regarding naval underwater signature ranges. The order, valued at MSEK 127.5, is a follow-up order to a contract signed in 2020 and the project will continue until 2026.

N-Sea Successfully Completes Environmental Baseline Survey for RWE Sweden

RWE Renewables is currently developing the 1600MW Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) Södra Midsjöbanken located in the southern Baltic Sea. N-Sea, along with their partner Ocean Ecology, were contracted for late season provision of vessel, equipment, and personnel to perform a geophysical site survey and environmental baseline survey, as well as full data processing, sample analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

Delivered over the span of 4 years, the Quadrans navigation systems will equip the Swedish Navy’s fleet of high speed crafts, mainly combat boats CB90.

UDT 2019 Preview

UDT 2019, the 32nd in the annual Underwater Defence Technology event series, will open in the Stockholmsmässan Exhibition Centre on 13th May for three days. Stockholmsmässan is close to the city centre, well served by regular metro trains, with several large hotels nearby. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is only 30 minutes away by commuter train, which runs 8 times every hour. The venue is the Nordic region’s largest exhibition centre and offers the exhibition plenty of room to expand, whilst simultaneously hosting UDT’s sister events – ITEC, which focuses on military training and simulation, and Electronic Warfare. 2019 is the first year that all three events are co-located, enabling attendees to spark new ideas, create new collaborations and partnerships, and extend networks. It also provides senior military personnel with a more efficient use of their increasingly precious time, thereby growing the number of officers in attendance.

MMT sponsor marine archeology investigations

As constantly being on the forefront on R&D, MMT is pleased to announce their participation and sponsorship on the investigation on the 530 year old wreck Gribshunden outside Ronneby, Sweden. MMT and MARIS (the Maritime Archaeological Research Institute) at Södertörn University have evaluated different techniques to map archaeological remains. The wreck Gribshunden has been one of the projects among others such as wreck investigations in the Baltic Sea on Mars, Lost Landscapes and Traveling Man.

Contract award for the world’s longest HVDC route survey

MMT (Sweden) has been awarded a contract for the world’s longest HVDC route survey for the UK-Iceland Interconnector by Atlantic Superconnection Corporation (ASC). MMT will provide bathymetric and geophysical mapping along the entire route corridor, between Iceland to England.
