Plexus looks to build upon 2015 successes for a positive 2016

Plexus, an Aberdeen-based engineering and service-company had an encouraging year in 2015, meeting some significant milestones in the development of its core business and launching new products.

Following a challenging year for the oil and gas industry, Colin Ritchie, Managing Director of Plexus, looks at the positives in 2015 and how Plexus will continue to develop in 2016.

Colin said, “The steep decline in the price of oil this year has of course been very challenging for Aberdeen and the industry as a whole. However, at a time when cost efficiency is increasingly important, Plexus consistently delivers innovative solutions and reliable technology allowing our clients to reduce costs without compromising on safety.”

In September, Plexus launched the Python® Subsea Wellhead at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen. The pioneering project, developed as part of an industry supported joint venture, was designed utilising Plexus’ patented POS-GRIP® technology. As well as offering the highest standards in safety and integrity, the Python subsea wellhead is designed to be simple: with many conventional components eliminated. This offers enhanced reliability and fewer trips during drilling resulting in crucial time and cost savings.

Plexus repositioned in 2015, strengthening its service offering and expanding into new global regions and new areas of the industry, including the decommissioning market. The company also invested significantly in its Aberdeen operations, opening a new site and doubling the office and workshop facilities capacity.

Looking forward, Plexus will continue to build on an unrivalled reputation for providing oil and gas operators with safer, more reliable and highly cost effective solutions in wellhead equipment for the North Sea and beyond.

Colin said “In 2016, we will continue to strengthen our relationships with existing clients but we are also excited about working with new customers and developing prospects in other areas, decommissioning and overseas markets in particular, and building on our success in 2015.”
