Maersk Drilling awarded two-well contract extension for low-emission rig Maersk Integrator under Aker BP alliance

Maersk Drilling has secured a two-well contract extension from Aker BP for the ultra-harsh environment, low-emission jack-up rig Maersk Integrator. In direct continuation of the rig’s current workscope, Maersk Integrator will move to the Ivar Aasen field offshore Norway to drill two wells, with work expected to commence in October 2020. The extension has an estimated duration of 93 days and a contract value of approximately USD 25.5m, excluding a potential performance bonus. The contract includes an additional one-well option.

Fugro acquires REM Etive IRM support vessel to service multiple contracts in Southeast Asia

Fugro has secured its continued utilisation of high performance offshore IRM vessel, REM Etive, and has finalised a purchase agreement at conditions significantly more beneficial than a renewed charter agreement, with owner Solstad. The move supports a portfolio of IRM contracts being executed by Fugro in the Asia Pacific region and is expected to strengthen the company’s position in relation to future subsea inspection business in the area.

Siem Offshore Contractors completes cable installation works on the Veja Mate offshore wind farm

Siem Offshore Contractors (SOC) is pleased to announce that all 73 inner array grid cables of the Veja Mate Offshore Wind Farm have been installed and trenched 10 weeks ahead of schedule. The submarine composite cables were successfully installed since 01-Oct-2016 using the “Siem Duo” consisting of the Cable Lay Vessel Siem Aimery and the Installation Support Vessel Siem Moxie. The Siem Duo demonstrated its advanced weather operability during the harsh winter season, whereby both the operations of the gangway on the Siem Moxie as well as post-lay trenching by the Siem Aimery were undertaken in significant wave heights of up to 3 m. The Siem Aimery loaded in excess of 95 km of copper core submarine composite cables directly into its two turntables in addition to the cable protection systems, which were loaded into a dedicated under-deck storage compartment. While the Siem Moxie assisted with the cable pull-in, termination and testing activities deploying SOC’s dedicated offshore support units (OSU) equipped with generators, pull-in winches, tools and equipment for personnel life support at the individual offshore work sites.

Topaz and ABB renew longstanding vessel contract for wind farm support

Topaz Energy and Marine, a leading offshore support vessel company, today announced the renewal of its long standing contract with ABB for the Topaz Installer, Topaz’s specialized cable laying vessel. Under the terms of the contract, the Topaz Installer will provide ABB with cable-laying services in support of wind farms in the North Sea for a period of one year plus options of at least 12 months. The contract was first signed in 2010.
