This month SEAMOR Marine’s latest innovation, a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) with 3-kilometer capacity, arrived in western Panama, where one of the country’s hydroelectric generation companies has begun using it for tunnel inspections of two hydroelectric projects on the Old Chiriqui River. The ROV 3-kilometer fiber optic tether and reel system expands the reach of SEAMOR’s previous systems by one kilometer.

A school robotics team sponsored by rugged connector and component manufacturer Bulgin won third place overall in the 2019 MATE (Marine Advanced Technology Education) International ROV competition, with connectors from Bulgin featured in the design. Among the 24 other schools that qualified in the Explorer age group final, a California-based high school’s robotics team had decided to use Bulgin’s PX0413/03P rear panel mount connectors in their design.

Webtool Focus on ROV and Cable Retrieval at Subsea Expo 2020

Hydraulic cutters and systems specialist, Webtool, is exhibiting the latest developments in its ROV electric cutters, extended deployment RROV cutters and cable gripper retrieval tools on stand 130 at Subsea Expo 2020, 11-13 February, Aberdeen. Webtool integrated cutters also featured on the stand will include IWOCS emergency disconnection and emergency deck cutters.

Rovco Raises £5 million Series A Investment

Subsea technology firm, Rovco, today announced a £3.9 million Series A investment from Foresight group via the Foresight Williams Technology EIS Fund and Foresight VCTs. The investment was part of a larger round totalling £5 million which included funds from existing shareholders.
