Members support IMCA's Governance update

Corporate governance has been a topical subject in the commercial world for many years. Now the association world is catching up. One that has seized it with enthusiasm is the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) with the result that from New Year’s Day 2017 IMCA will have in place a new legal structure, a new operational structure, and new governance arrangements for running its committee structure. The new legal structure sees the formation of a new holding company limited by guarantee, the board of which becomes the governing body of the association, replacing the Council and Overall Management Committee.

IKM Cleandrill secures Wintershall multi-well mud recovery contract

IKM Cleandrill AS has been awarded a contract by Wintershall Norge AS to provide mud recovery services on multiple offshore wells. The contract will cover potential development drilling campaigns on Maria, as well as an option for future exploration drilling. The Maria development drilling from the rig ‘Deep Sea Stavanger’ is scheduled for 1st half 2017, where the wells will be drilled using the top-hole mud recovery technique. IKM Cleandrill will provide the MRR500 top-hole mud recovery equipment and specialist offshore operational personnel to undertake these services. The MRR500 is the latest generation mud recovery technology, setting market leading standards for safety, efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness. The contract is for an initial period of 3 years, with options to extend to 2023.

Seabed geosolutions secures continuity in the Middle East

Seabed Geosolutions, in cooperation with CGG, secured a new extension to its ongoing shallow water operations in the U.A.E. The variation order from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) covers Phase-II of the Ghasha Field project. This new survey is due to start in October and is expected to take approximately 9 months. It has a value of around USD 60 million. With this new award, Seabed Geosolutions will enter its 4th year of continuous operations for ADNOC in the U.A.E., having recently successfully completed the Hail, Shuweihat and Ghasha Phase-I surveys.

Invaluable diving terms document published as IMCA, ADCI AND IOGP JIP

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has published ‘ADCI/IOGP/IMCA Diving Terms’ as IMCA D 057. “This invaluable document has been prepared as a joint industry project (JIP) involving representatives from IMCA, the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) in the United States, and the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) Diving Industry Work Group (DIWG),” explains Richard Benzie.

SMD wins contract for supply of Quasar MKII System

Wallsend, UK: Shanghai Salvage Company (also known as China Offshore Engineering Shanghai, Co), a state owned entity who have a long history in diving and salvage have signed an order with SMD for a Quasar MKII 6000m remotely operated vehicle (ROV). Scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2017, the system will include a full suite of equipment suitable for both deep sea salvage and oil and gas operations.

New Underwater Robotics Company Positioned For Success - Rovco awarded first UK contract

An independent company focussed on underwater integrity, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), surveying and subsea services for both oil and gas, and renewables, Rovco has secured a contract with a UK Marine Trust.

Topaz and ABB renew longstanding vessel contract for wind farm support

Topaz Energy and Marine, a leading offshore support vessel company, today announced the renewal of its long standing contract with ABB for the Topaz Installer, Topaz’s specialized cable laying vessel. Under the terms of the contract, the Topaz Installer will provide ABB with cable-laying services in support of wind farms in the North Sea for a period of one year plus options of at least 12 months. The contract was first signed in 2010.

OEM wins deal worth up to £1m to support Go Marine global fleet

FAST-GROWING specialist oil and gas and marine services firm OEM Group has secured a two-year contract worth up to £1million with international energy services company Go Marine to deliver engine support services to its fleet of vessels operating across the world for the oil and gas industry. Under the global technical support and services agreement, OEM Group will solely carry out the procurement of engine spare parts, electrical componants and systems, as well as providing personnel, project management and maintainence to support work across the different vessel types and regions Go Marine operates in around the world.

Fugro secures geotechnical site investigation contract at Hollandse Kust (zuid) wind farm zone

Fugro has been awarded a geotechnical site investigation survey contract for the Hollandse Kust (zuid) Wind Farm Zone. This follows previous contracts awarded earlier this year for geophysical survey and metocean monitoring at the same site. The work will be performed using dedicated geotechnical DP2 vessels from the Fugro fleet. Taking place over a period of two months, it will result in an integrated geological/geotechnical soil model of the site.

Fugro to provide ROV services on board ONGC Drillship Off East India

Fugro has been awarded a contract by Indian oil and gas company, ONGC, for the provision of ROV services on board the drillship Sagar Vijay. The contract, which was signed at ONGC’s offices in Mumbai, involves providing support for deepwater drilling operations off the east coast of India, in depths up to 900 metres.

Proserv seals significant contract with Statoil

Global-leading energy services company Proserv has been awarded a multi-million pound contract with Statoil for the provision of production control equipment in Norway. Proserv will supply five wellhead hydraulic power units (HPUs) for Statoil’s Gullfaks oil and gas field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea which is undergoing an extensive topside upgrade programme. The design, manufacture and supply of the workscope will be carried out by Proserv’s specialist engineering and project teams in Stavanger, Norway. Work has already begun on the manufacturing of these systems and all five are expected to be delivered to Statoil by 2017.
