Sonardyne nets £1 million 6G order from Seatronics for West Africa project

Sonardyne International Ltd., UK, has announced that Seatronics, an Acteon company and global leaders in the rental and sale of marine electronic equipment, is to take delivery of £1million worth of its 6G acoustic positioning technology. The contract was placed on Day 2 of the Subsea Expo 2015 exhibition and conference in Aberdeen.

Sonardyne and Forum Subsea Rentals close major deal at Subsea Expo

Sonardyne International Ltd., UK, has announced that Forum Subsea Rentals (FSR), a global provider of rental equipment to the offshore and marine industry, is to substantially increase its stock holding of Sonardyne 6G Long BaseLine (LBL) acoustic positioning technology. The order for an undisclosed sum was confirmed on the opening day of Subsea Expo 2015, Europe’s largest annual subsea exhibition and conference, which is taking place from the 11th to the 13th of February in Aberdeen.

The fast-growing UK subsea sector, which supports 60,000 jobs, is in for two years of tough times and will only weather the storm if it embraces innovation and new technology, says industry body. On the opening day of Subsea Expo, Europe’s largest subsea event, the chief executive of Subsea UK told delegates that the industry is facing considerable challenges but the fundamentals in subsea remain relatively strong and the sector could see a significant improvement in 2017 – 2019.

World Preview of Latest Generation Underwater Robot at Subsea Expo

The world’s largest manufacturer of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) will launch its latest generation subsea robotic system at Subsea Expo in Aberdeen this week. Forum Energy Technologies will unveil the XLX-C ROV – a highly capable work-class vehicle that is more compact than the highly successful XLX model but with similar capabilities. This new ROV has been two years in development and represents a multi-million pound investment by Forum.

STR SeaSpyder explores IFCA habitats

Great Yarmouth based marine technology experts Subsea Technology and Rentals (STR) are pleased to announce the supply of 2 SeaSpyder underwater camera systems to the Association of Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (AIFCA), for use by its ten individual statutory organisations. The delivery of SeaSpyder underwater camera systems and deployment solution to the IFCAs is to improve their ability to gather information on seabed habitats and species across England’s inshore waters. This work is to support Defra’s ambitious target of achieving a well-managed network of marine protected sites by 2016.
