Deep Ocean's USV surveys the Historic USS Arizona and the USS Utah at Pearl Harbor

Deep Ocean Engineering, Inc proudly announces it’s participation in the first comprehensive multibeam survey of the USS Arizona and the USS Utah at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Bowtech supply ultra-miniature cameras for Diverless Subsea Pipeline Repair System

Bowtech Products Ltd, a global market leader in subsea vision systems, supplied miniature underwater cameras with integral LEDs to Isotek Oil And Gas Ltd for observation of a diverless subsea pipeline repair system. The L3C-400-MICRO cameras were fitted with pressure relief valves to enable safe operation in an Argon-rich atmosphere subsea. The cameras were also supplied with right angled adaptors to permit observation of the tool in operation from all angles from restricted available camera positions.

Delta SubSea Demonstrate Rapid Response Capabilities

Delta SubSea mobilized an entire ROV system including: Schilling Robotics HD 150 ROV, Dynacon Launch and Recovery System, and ROV Control Van on an Antonov An-124 Ruslan airplane. The Antonov An-124 Ruslan airplane is a strategic airlift jet aircraft. The An-124 is the world’s highest gross weight production cargo airplane and second heaviest operating cargo aircraft. DSS’s ROV system was mobilized at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas. DSS’s ROV system was delivered to Trinidad for pipelay survey operations in Venezuela.

Sonardyne strengthens presence in Australasia with Scope Engineering

As part of an expanded investment programme in the Australasian offshore industry, Sonardyne Asia Pte Ltd. in Singapore has appointed Scope Engineering (WA) Pty Ltd. as its agent for Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding territories. Based in Perth, Western Australia, Scope Engineering delivers a range of marine engineering and fabrication services as well as providing third party technology solutions for offshore monitoring and inspection surveys. Now as Sonardyne’s agent, Scope Engineering will collaborate with the company on commercial opportunities within subsea asset monitoring, exploration and reservoir surveillance, ocean science, vessel positioning and offshore drilling.

Balmoral invests in new ROV buoyancy plant

Remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomously operated vehicles (AUVs) are becoming progressively more sophisticated in the tasks being demanded of them – from exploration and installation exercises to production operations and decommissioning projects. The ever-increasing global demand for all classes of vehicles, and the corresponding requirement for buoyancy packs, has seen Aberdeen-based Balmoral Offshore Engineering completely overhaul its ROV buoyancy production capability into a dedicated centre of excellence at its city HQ. The move has seen the company create approximately 20 new jobs spanning design, engineering and manufacturing. Following a £1m+ investment in the plant and supporting infrastructure, Jim Milne, chairman and managing director of Balmoral, told ROV Planet: “The last couple of years have seen an upturn in demand for ROVs around the world. This helped us make the decision to refurbish our buoyancy processing facility and increase production capacity so that we can meet customers’ lead times which are often necessarily short.

Vard Marine Dual Fuel Patent

Vard Marine, formerly STX Marine, has been awarded a US Patent for their design and engineering of a Dual Fuel Vessel. The company is pleased to announce that later this year; the first of six 5100DWT vessels to be built under this patent, designed by Vard Marine and built by Gulf Coast Shipyard Group for Harvey Gulf International Marine will be delivered. These innovative vessels represent the first US flag vessels capable of operating exclusively on natural gas or diesel fuel oil.

Elmeridge Cables Limited supply specialist 26-ton, 10km tow rope

Brighton, UK based Elmeridge Cables Ltd are pleased to announce the delivery of a specialist, 26-ton breaking strain steel tow rope, in one length of 10,000 metres, for the Asian subsea market. After months of development, the special galvanized steel stranding confirmed the required 26-ton mean breaking load necessary for the specialist towing application being operated from a research vessel in 6000 metres of water. Production was completed 3 weeks earlier than anticipated. Elmeridge Cables Ltd is now looking forward to expanding its product range and expertise into this type of specialist products.
