Seaway7 Awarded Offshore Wind Contract

Seaway 7, part of the Subsea7 Group, today announced that it has been awarded a large(1) contract for an undisclosed offshore wind farm project. The scope includes the transport and installation of inner-array and export power cables and respective cable protection systems. Operations on the project are expected to commence in 2023 and continue through 2024 and 2025. The contract is subject to final investment decision by the client.

Subsea 7 - DeepOcean Consortium Awarded Equinor Contracts Offshore Norway

A consortium between DeepOcean and Subsea7 was awarded two contracts by Equinor for the Irpa and Verdande field developments, located in the Norwegian Sea. The Irpa field development project, located in the Aasta Hansteen area at 1,350 metres water depth, involves a subsea tieback of approximately 80 kilometres to the Aasta Hansteen FPSO. The contract scope includes engineering, transportation and installation of a MEG pipeline, a production riser, umbilical, subsea structures and tie-ins.

BMS has made a strategic investment in the continued growth of its underwater inspection service with the purchase of two Outland 3000 ROVs. The 3000 represents the latest evolution in Outland’s legacy of rugged, durable, and proven inspection class systems. The new 3000 series sets the bar for this class of underwater inspection platform by way of improved performance, built in high-speed communication capability to support multiple ethernet devices, additional thrust and payload capacity, improved flexibility for integration of tooling and tool-free maintenance. Both systems will be fitted with Tritech Gemini 1200ik Multi Beam Sonars, Waterlinked DVLs, two-function manipulators, and cleaning capabilities. The systems are rated for 300 meters but can be upgraded to 600 meters.

Habitat-Saving Algorithm Helped by Seaeye Falcon

Scientists at the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) have acquired a second Saab Seaeye Falcon underwater robot. The Seaeye Falcon is used to conduct surveys of marine fish and invertebrates in Washington’s Puget Sound, where some rockfish populations were fished to levels that threatened extinction.
