Greensea Signs Contract with Ocean Infinity

Greensea Systems, creator of OPENSEA®, the universal open architecture software platform for the marine industry, entered into a contract with Ocean Infinity to provide OPENSEA as the open architecture platform that the Armada Dynamic Payloads Control (DPC) will be built upon. During the contract, Greensea and Ocean Infinity will collaborate on creating advanced capabilities for robotic control and supervision for the Armada fleet’s payload. The DPC will provide a framework for supervising and controlling an ROV system, including the deck gear and launch and recovery system, by operators located at any of Ocean Infinity’s remote control centers. Through the OPENSEA API and OPENSEA SDK interfaces, Greensea, Ocean Infinity, or any partner can easily plug into the Armada DPC to add functionality to the fleet through the open architecture interfaces provided by OPENSEA.

Greensea Enters into Contract with Ocean Power Technologies

Greensea Appoints New Account Executive

Greensea, creator of OPENSEATM, the universal ma-rine industry operating platform, has recently announced the appointment of Karl Lander as Account Executive. Prior to joining Greensea, Karl spent two decades with the United States Coast Guard. Most recently, he was the Executive Officer aboard the USCGC Healy, where he was responsible for the in-ternal operations of an 85-member crew and managed a 137-member cross-functional team during a 64-day scientific expedition to the North Pole. Karl earned a M.S. in Engineering and Technology Management from Portland State University in Oregon, and a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. He is a Certified Surface Supplied and SCUBA Diver with experience in military and scientific expeditions.

Prior to joining Greensea, Geoff was a software development manager at MyWebGrocer, where he led a team in the Rapid Application Development Group. His experience also includes partnership in a local software development company and a teaching position in advanced programing at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. Geoff earned his B.S. degree in Mathematics and minored in Computer Science at the University of Vermont, and he is a practitioner of the martial arts of Aikido and Tae Kwon Do.

Exocetus Selects Greensea for Navigation and Control

Another Greensea system is entering the market – this time with the versatile, long duration, Exocetus Coastal Glider. Greensea is providing their commercially available navigation, control, and automation product based on their patent-pending OPENSEATM operating platform – the first operating platform for the marine industry – for the command and control of the Exocetus vehicle and sensors. The Exocetus AUV carries more payload and is faster than competing gliders. It also operates well in changing salinity conditions common along the coast. “But the main differentiator for users is its open architecture design and ease-of-use,” said Joe Turner, Co-founder.

Prior to joining Greensea, Heath automated software functions through programming at Globalfoundaries, a world leader in semiconductor production. He earned a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont, a B.A. degree from Vermont Technical College, and is also a skilled carpenter.
