Rovco Makes Key Appointment to Advance Global Survey Business Following £15.2m Investment

Rovco has appointed Craig Davis to the new key role of Global Account Director – Survey, as it moves to further accelerate the growth of its core capabilities and portfolio of offshore survey solutions. The leading provider of offshore subsea and survey projects is making a significant investment into its offering across the sector. Alongside ROV/AUV large scale project delivery, Rovco also delivers hydrographic, geophysical, and shallow geotechnical survey services, ranging from site characterisation and cable route surveys to UXO identification and disposal, marine habitat assessment surveys and archaeological investigations.

Oceaneering Mobilizes Isurus 5

Oceaneering is proud to announce that a fifth Isurus system has been added to our ROV fleet. The ROV was mobilized in late March to provide renewables construction support for a customer in Europe. The five operating Isurus systems deliver 65% improvement in speed relative to traditional work class ROVs.

Piloting ROV from Shore Opens New Possibilities for Deep-Ocean Exploration

During a recent expedition on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, an engineer on shore, over a thousand miles away from the ship, successfully piloted a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) to explore the deep ocean. A first for NOAA Ocean Exploration and the Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration, this test of piloting an ROV from shore opens new possibilities for deep-ocean exploration.

Portuguese Navy Hydrography Training with EQS Falcon

Training exercises aboard a Portuguese Navy hydrographic vessel have been completed by EQS (Environment Quality Services) using their Saab Seaeye Falcon robot. Teams from the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute and EQS undertook several exercises over three days on board the Portuguese Navy vessel Andrómeda, commanded by First Lieutenant Ribeiro de Carvalho, off the coast of Portugal.

3D Reconstruction of Underwater Infrastructures Using Photogrammetry

Subsea Tech now integrates the HYDRO300 3D photogrammetry sensor on its Tortuga and Mini TORTUGA ROVs. After an integration of the ORUS on the Tortuga last year, Subsea Tech has now acquired the HYDRO 300, the new compact system from IVM Technologies.

New ROV for Bre­men Deep-Sea Re­search and En­vir­on­mental Ob­ser­va­tion

MARUM - Cen­ter for Mar­ine En­vir­on­mental Sci­ences at the Uni­versity of Bre­men is get­ting a new ROV. The new sys­tem has a higher per­form­ance than ROV MARUM-QUEST. This means that the diving ro­bot can be used, for ex­ample, to trans­port ob­ser­vat­or­ies to the ocean floor and con­duct in­vest­ig­a­tions at a wa­ter depth of 5,000 meters.

Legal & General and Equinor Ventures Co-lead £15.2m Series B Raise for Innovative Technology and Renewables Businesses Rovco & Vaarst

As part of the expansion of its clean energy portfolio, Legal & General Capital (Legal & General) alongside the venture capital arm of the international energy company Equinor, announces that it has co-led the Series B raise into affiliated, innovative technology and renewables businesses, Rovco and its sister company Vaarst. Legal & General will invest £8.5m out of £15.2m raise. Other participants include existing shareholder Foresight Group, and In-Q-Tel, strategic investor for the US intelligence and defence communities and allied nations.

Hydromea Successfully Trials its Wireless ROV System at TotalEnergies Offshore Site in the North Sea

Hydromea successfully trialed EXRAY, its wireless underwater ROV system, within a full ballast water tank on one of TotalEnergies’ North Sea floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels during November 2021. EXRAY was deployed to collect visual inspection data, validating system performance including wireless navigation and wireless communication.
