Solstad Offshore Expands Vessel Fleet with ROVs

Shipowner Solstad Offshore expands its fleet offering by equipping six more of the company’s subsea construction vessels with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). In connection with the investment in new ROVs, Solstad Offshore has entered into a cooperation agreement with Omega Subsea, who will manage, operate and provide personnel to operate the ROV systems on board the vessels.

BMS has made a strategic investment in the continued growth of its underwater inspection service with the purchase of two Outland 3000 ROVs. The 3000 represents the latest evolution in Outland’s legacy of rugged, durable, and proven inspection class systems. The new 3000 series sets the bar for this class of underwater inspection platform by way of improved performance, built in high-speed communication capability to support multiple ethernet devices, additional thrust and payload capacity, improved flexibility for integration of tooling and tool-free maintenance. Both systems will be fitted with Tritech Gemini 1200ik Multi Beam Sonars, Waterlinked DVLs, two-function manipulators, and cleaning capabilities. The systems are rated for 300 meters but can be upgraded to 600 meters.

Teledyne Marine Opens Vehicles Service Center in Europe

Teledyne Marine announces the opening of a Vehicles Service Center at the Teledyne Reson office in Slangerup, Denmark. The expanded facility in Slangerup will support the large number of LBVs, vLBVs, and Z-Boats throughout Europe. Customers of Teledyne SeaBotix and Teledyne Oceanscience will now have the option to have their Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) repaired, refurbished and tested within Europe. Local service will eliminate the need to ship vehicles back to the United States, saving significant time, effort, and money.

Webtool Announces First Electro-Hydraulic Power Pack for Smaller ROVs at Offshore Europe 2017

Hydraulic cutting tools specialist, Webtool, is announcing the industry’s first battery-powered, high pressure hydraulic power pack, enabling smaller and inspection class ROVs access to the Webtool range of hydraulic wire rope and softline fibre rope cutters, at Offshore Europe 2017. In addition, the stand will feature the Webtool Cable Retrieval Tool (CRT200), developed in consultation with international certification body and classification society, DNVGL, and the Webtool portable, softline, deck emergency cutter for offshore vessels. The lightweight, battery powered power pack gives electric ROVs a Webtool cutting capability for softline ropes and guidewires. Called EHP350, it is designed to be used with Webtool wire rope and softline at water depths up to 1000m.
