Subsea 7 S.A. today confirmed the award of a major1 contract by Turkish Petroleum for the second phase of the Sakarya field development offshore Turkey in the Black Sea.

Saipem has been conferred the 2023 Spotlight on New Technology® Award by Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) for its FlatFish Autonomous Underwater Inspection Drone. The award is assigned by OTC to those exhibitors who are revolutionizing the future of offshore energy through technological advancement and innovation. The conference is one of the world’s leading offshore energy events, held this year from 1-4 May in Houston, Texas.

Saipem has been awarded three new offshore contracts and two competitive FEED contracts totalling approximately 650 million USD.

Saipem and Seaway7 today announced that they have entered into a commercial collaboration agreement to jointly identify, bid and execute fixed offshore wind projects. Saipem and Seaway7 will pursue selected projects where the combined utilisation of the companies’ complementary world-class assets, technologies, products and competencies will generate significant synergies and improve project economics.

The first contract - in partnership with Aker Solutions do Brasil - has been awarded by Total Energies, for the LAPA Southwest (LAPA SW) Development Project, a deepwater oil field in the Santos Basin in the South Atlantic, 270 kilometres off the coast of São Paulo, in Brazil.

Saipem has been awarded new contracts in Guyana and Egypt for a total amount of approximately 1.2 billion USD. The first contract has been awarded by ExxonMobil Guyana, subject to government approvals, for the UARU oil field development project, located in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana at a water depth of around 2,000 meters.

Saipem and Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) have signed an extension of their existing Services Agreement to include the provision of FlatFish, Saipem’s underwater drone for environmental monitoring and inspection of asset integrity.

Saipem SpA, Havfram Holding AS and HVAS Invest Kappa AS (a holding company controlled by HitecVision) have signed a non-binding agreement to evaluate a potential collaboration in the development and construction of offshore windfarms.

Saipem has been awarded a contract by Shell and Petrobras for the utilisation of its FlatFish subsea drone in two pilot projects encompassing the inspection campaigns of two ultra-deepwater fields offshore Brazil, operated respectively by the two energy companies. These two projects with Shell and Petrobras are pilots and fall within the framework of the research and development programme of ANP, the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels. The target is to qualify the drone to execute unmanned, vessel-free inspections to support the monitoring and maintenance campaigns of the subsea infrastructures.

Saipem launches its new sustainable technology for subsea pipelaying which considerably reduces environmental impacts on the seabed. The "Underwater Cold Bending" technology was presented during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the leading international events in the offshore energy sector.

Saipem has been awarded by Petrobras a new SURF EPCI contract for the installation of a rigid riser-based subsea system for the Búzios 7 project, to serve the pre-salt field located about 200 km offshore the state of Rio de Janeiro, in water depths of around 2,000 meters.

Saipem and TechnipFMC today announced the two companies have entered into a global commercial agreement that will allow them to identify projects worldwide that could be jointly executed for the benefit of clients.

Fugro has been awarded by Saipem a monitoring contract to support the construction of a liquid natural gas (LNG) jetty for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field offshore Senegal/Mauritania.

Saipem and WSense, an Italian start-up in the field of innovation, have signed a cooperation agreement for developing complex communication networks for subsea drones.

Saipem launches SUISO, a technological solution for the production of green hydrogen thus confirming its commitment to support its clients in the energy transition. The trademark has been registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

Saipem signed a bareboat charter contract with the Samsung Heavy Industries Company yards for a new drillship, the Samsung Santorini which will be delivered in November 2021. The bareboat charter of about two years duration allows Saipem to strengthen the competitiveness of its fleet without investing in new assets, but by leveraging its consolidated expertise in the selection and management of technologically advanced vessels. The contract with Samsung still provides for the option to purchase the ship, which can be exercised at the discretion of Saipem depending on the trend of demand.

Saipem has been awarded by Wintershall Dea Norge a contract for the drilling campaign of six wells plus options to drill additional wells in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Operations, which are expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2021, will be performed by the semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 8, a drilling unit designed to be “zero pollution and zero discharge” and equipped for operations in harsh environments.
