ENGenious: 4-6 September 2018, Aberdeen A new three-day biennial global symposium and exhibition aimed at driving radical digital and technological transformation across the upstream oil and gas industry has been launched by SPE and Reed Exhibitions, the partners behind SPE Offshore Europe. ENGenious has been conceived in response to demand from the upstream oil and gas community for an event focusing on emerging products, services and techniques with the ability to transform the efficiency of exploration and production activities. The first edition will be held at AECC, Aberdeen, Scotland from 4 – 6 September 2018. The event will run on alternate years to SPE Offshore Europe.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre’s Technology Zone at SPE Offshore Europe 2017 will present a series of technologies used in alternative sectors to encourage the oil and gas industry to think differently about the adoption of new products. The Centre believes technologies such as robots, composite materials, additive manufacturing and augmented reality are all currently underutilised in offshore oil and gas, despite being part of a general industrial transformation in other industries. OE & Me is a new online hub which invites people to send their stories of SPE Offshore Europe and organisers are looking for contributions from both within and outside the oil and gas industry.
