Kraken Receives Synthetic Aperture Sonar Order from NATO CMRE

Kraken Robotics is pleased to announce that it has received an order from NATO Science and Technology Organisation (STO) Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) for a Miniature Synthetic Aperture Sonar (MINSAS) System from Kraken. The order followed an openly competed tender process and was delivered in Q4. Kraken’s MINSAS was selected having met CMRE’s rigorous requirements for a robust, broadband Synthetic Aperture Sonar. Kraken’s MINSAS will be integrated onto a NATO CMRE’s Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (UUV), where it will also support advanced Artificial Intelligence capabilities such as Automated Target Recognition (ATR).

Kraken Receives Synthetic Aperture Sonar Order from HII

Kraken Robotics is pleased to announce an initial order of its AquaPix® Miniature Synthetic Aperture Sonar (MINSAS) System for HII’s new REMUS 620 Medium Class UUV. Synthetic Aperture Sonar is quickly becoming the tool of choice for mine countermeasure (MCM) operations due to its significantly increased resolution and higher area coverage rates compared to legacy side scan sonar. This order is valued at $1 million and will be fulfilled in 2024.

Kraken Receives Order for AquaPix® Sonar from AUV Manufacturer

Kraken Robotics Inc., Canada’s Ocean Company™, is pleased to announce that it has received an order for a 3000-meter rated AquaPix MINSAS 120 Synthetic Aperture Sonar from an American autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) manufacturer. The contract value is $0.5 million and delivery to the customer is expected in 2021. Since March of this year, Kraken has received orders for AquaPix MINSAS 120 Synthetic Aperture Sonars from customers in the US, Europe, and Australia for integration onto three different AUV platforms.

Argeo has ordered its second and identical newbuild SeaRaptor 6000 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle “AUV” from Teledyne Gavia with delivery taking place early Q4 2021.The delivery includes several ancillary system components, software and crew training is an identical system to the first allowing the two systems to work in parallel for project requiring larger seabed footprint and productivity.
