In September, Teledyne Marine deployed multiple Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs) during REPMUS 23 experimentation and DYNAMIC MESSENGER 23 exercise which took place in Troia and Sesimbra, Portugal. REPMUS (Robotic Experimentation and Prototyping with Maritime Unmanned System) REPMUS is the largest unmanned system experimentation exercise, with participation broadly across NATO nations. REPMUS is a great opportunity to experiment with new capabilities and test the interoperability between unmanned systems.

Teledyne Slocum Glider Successfully Deployed from a U.S. Navy Helicopter

Teledyne Marine and the U.S. Navy successfully executed the first-ever undersea glider launch from a helicopter and the first-ever successful deployment from an aircraft. The Teledyne-owned Slocum glider, configured with Littoral Battlespace Sensing – Glider (LBS-G) mine countermeasures (MCM) sensors, was launched from the ramp of U.S. Navy helicopter flying “low and slow” over shallow waters. Teledyne Marine provided Slocum glider piloting and technical support in theater. "We are excited to be a part of another series of firsts! In this instance, the first launch from a helicopter and the first-ever successful glider deployment from an aircraft. Teledyne Marine takes pride in our continued innovation and support of the U.S. Navy as it expands the operational envelope of underwater gliders." said Dr. Thomas Altshuler, Senior Vice President, Global Maritime Defense Strategy and Business Development Teledyne Technologies.

Royal NIOZ Acquires Three New Teledyne Webb Slocum Gliders

Teledyne Marine announces selling and delivering three Webb Slocum gliders to the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ). NIOZ conducts multidisciplinary applied marine research to address major scientific questions about our oceans and seas. After completing a competitive tender procedure, NIOZ acquired three Teledyne Webb Research G3 Slocum gliders. NIOZ Scientists, engineers, and ship technicians recently underwent operational and maintenance training on the systems with field support staff from Teledyne Webb Research and the UK’s National Oceanographic Center (NOC), which are Teledyne’s European Slocum Service Center. This training was conducted in Spain at SOCIB facilities in preparation for the glider science project to be undertaken initially by the RV Pelagia in the North Sea in the spring of 2023.

The Ministry of Defence of Poland Procures More GAVIA AUVs from Teledyne Marine

A global leader in the provision of marine unmanned systems, Teledyne Marine – Vehicles announces that the Ministry of Defence of Poland has procured, through Remontowa Shipbuilding three additional GAVIA Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) for its next batch of Kormoran II Class new MCMVs. The anticipated delivery of three systems will be added to the current GAVIA AUV fleet, which has been successfully operated by the Polish Navy for Naval Mine CounterMeasures (NMCM) since 2015.

The Teledyne TSS HydroPACT660E detection system is a new benchmark for smaller ROVs developed from over 30 years of subsea pipe & cable survey experience. Through a smaller innovative single coil sensor, and single 24Vdc subsea electronics Pod with lower power requirements the HydroPACT660E can be fitted to and controlled by much smaller ROVs. This can significantly reduce the cost of pipe, cable and UXO surveys normally carried out by much larger work class ROVs.
