Subsea Expo 2023 Awards and Conference Abstract Deadlines Extended

15.09.2022
In light of recent events and in respect of the period of national mourning, the organisers of Subsea Expo 2023 have announced an extension to the deadline for award entries and conference abstracts.

Subsea Expo 2022 at P&J Live Aberdeen

Global Underwater Hub, which organises the three-day industry showcase, has extended the closing date for submitting nominations for the Subsea Expo Awards and abstracts for the conference programme by two weeks to Friday 30 September.

Subsea Expo is the world’s largest exhibition and conference dedicated to the subsea sector. Attracting up to 6,500 industry professionals, the event will take place at P&J Live in Aberdeen from Tuesday, 21 to Thursday, 23 February 2023. The event provides a platform for companies operating across the underwater industry in the offshore renewables, oil and gas, defence, aquaculture, telecoms and subsea mining sectors.

Planning for the event is well underway. Global Underwater Hub has confirmed that more than half of the exhibition stands for the event have now been sold. Among those who have booked their place on the show floor are Ansys, Centurion Subsea Services, Hiretech Limited, Hughes Subsea, JDR Cable Systems, Motive Offshore Group, Verlume and Viewport3.

Running alongside the exhibition will be the conference programme, allowing debate and discussion on key industry topics. The call for speakers invites abstracts on topics including net zero and the energy transition, offshore renewables, oil and gas subsea production systems and pipelines, energy security, the digital age, aquaculture, defence and minerals.

A highlight of the three-day event is the prestigious Subsea Expo Awards. Held on the Wednesday evening, the black-tie dinner recognises the companies and individuals who are leading the way in the underwater sector. Eight awards will be presented on the night. Application forms are available online at the Subsea Expo website.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Global Underwater Hub, said; “Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we recognise that the country, Commonwealth and world wishes to take the appropriate time to pay their respects. In acknowledgement of this, we have extended the deadline for submitting nominations and abstracts for the Subsea Expo Awards and conference.

“With just over 150 days to go until the event in February, plans are now well advanced. We have seen a strong uptake in stand bookings, demonstrating the clear importance exhibitors from across the underwater industry place on having a presence at Subsea Expo.”
