The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in gathering and processing hydrographic survey data (multibeam echo sounders and related hydrographic survey equipment and services). He/she will conduct demonstrations of the WAM-V to highlight its capability for surveys, surveillance, and other mission profiles across the target markets. In addition, the incumbent will support customers’ technical needs on hydrographic survey projects. The Technical Sales Representative will establish rapport and become a valuable resource to our customers in various market sectors including government, commercial, and academic/research. Requirements & Summary

In addition, the incumbent will support customers’ technical needs on hydrographic survey projects.

He/she will be expected to help win new customers and grow the business. Frequent travel along the East Coast, and to other U.S. locations, will be required.

Responsibilities
• Work closely with our technical department to become proficient in the setup, deployment, and operation of the WAM-V.
• Conduct demonstrations and support customers’ hydrographic survey projects using the WAM-V as a standalone unit, or as a force multiplier in conjunction with traditional ship-based systems.
• Proactively identify and/or support technical challenges and opportunities. Support testing and analysis to resolve customer issues.
• Identify and visit current and potential new customers on a regular basis.
• Prepare and follow up on new sales and after-market sales quotations.
• Promote value-added services and add-on products to enhance performance and maximize value to the customer for the near and long term. Examples include training, software, service agreements, upgrades, and other enabling technologies.
• Provide technical sales support and analysis of customer requirements and competitive comparisons.
• Provide market intelligence and contribute to the company’s sales and marketing strategy.
• Support product sales through distributors, resellers, and OEM customers.
• Support marketing campaigns to promote new technology, solutions, and applications.

Required Qualifications
We are looking for a self-driven, quality-minded professional with a proven track record of success dealing directly with end customers in the maritime sector. As this position will provide services to fulfill federal government contracts, qualified applicants must be a U.S. citizen per federal contract requirements. Other qualifications include:
• Minimum four-year college degree in science or engineering
• Technical background in ocean science (for example, hydrography, oceanography, or geophysical surveys)
• Demonstrated expertise in multibeam and single-beam hydrographic surveys including post-survey data processing and analysis
• Previous experience with ASVs (autonomous surface vehicles)
• Project management, customer support, training, or field operations experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Determined to do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Reliable, with a penchant for timely follow-up on deadlines without constant supervision
• Service-oriented and focused on fulfilling the customer’s needs and expectations
• Innovative and continuously improving processes
• Collaborative, able to motivate and cooperate with employees at all levels of the business
• Experience working on U.S. government contracts is a plus
• Previous sales experience is desired but not required
