Archer Knight Expands Global Footprint with Move into Asia Pacific

New Singapore-based operation strengthens ties to the region Energy market intelligence specialist Archer Knight has hailed launching its new Asia Pacific venture as a “major statement of intent”.

The Aberdeen-headquartered firm has announced the launch of Archer Knight (Asia Pac) Pte Ltd. Based in Singapore, the new entity will oversee all of Archer Knight’s operations in the region, including market intelligence provision and consultancy services. Singapore is a global oil & gas hub and the Asia Pacific region includes a rapidly developing renewable energy sector. The expansion into this region is part of ambitious growth plans for Archer Knight, which include expanding the company’s global footprint into Asia and North America.

The company have engaged local consultancy firm Poseidon Consulting who have appointed Andrew Threlfall as regional director. Threlfall will work alongside Archer Knight’s senior management team to grow the new company. He is the former managing director of Hallin Manufacturing Services Pte Ltd and has been based in Singapore for over 14 years.

Andrew Threlfall said: “I’ve been impressed with Archer Knight’s offering for some time, so when the opportunity arose to work as part of the regional leadership team and help build the business here, I had no hesitation. There are exciting times ahead and I hope to use my regional knowledge to assist the group in bringing its market intelligence expertise to a wider audience.”

Mike Watson, Archer Knight co-founder and Executive Director, will manage the entity from a Group
perspective, supporting operations from the UK. He spent two years working as a general manager in
Singapore for an offshore contractor.

Mike Watson said: “Having someone of Andrew’s calibre on board helps us accelerate our strategic plans. It also a major statement of our intent to bring a local service to the region which we believe will better serve our growing client base throughout the Asia Pacific region. This region includes several companies with assets and services focused on international utilisation. Our granular approach, together with our focus on pursuit planning means clients can access cost-effective assessments on international market opportunities.”

Last year, Archer Knight launched its software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform Flowline with is now an
integral part of the Alliance Market Intelligence (AMi) subscription service. The energy market
intelligence software gives business granular insight on sectors including offshore wind and subsea oil
and gas. Subscribers can access data giving them a detailed real-time view of the market and helping
them target the best winnable business opportunities.
