Kraken Robotics Inc. Effective April 1, 2019, BCIP became the Innovative Solutions Canada –Testing Stream (ISC-TS), delivered by Innovation, Science & Economic Development’s Innovation Canada Sector. Kraken expects to deliver SeaVision® to its test partner, Parks Canada – Underwater Archaeology Team (UAT) during Q3 2020. Parks Canada and Kraken plan to conduct at-sea testing and evaluation of the SeaVision® system at a variety of archaeologically significant sites including the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror at the National Historic Site of Canada, Nunavut. Kraken was previously involved in Parks Canada’s discovery of the HMS Erebus during the Franklin Expedition in Summer 2014.

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a contract for the 7th generation drillship Maersk Valiant which will be employed by Noble Energy for a one-well campaign offshore Colombia. The contract is expected to commence in Q3 2020, in direct continuation of the rig’s previous contract. The contract has an estimated duration of 65 days and a contract value of USD 18.2m, including mobilisation and demobilisation fees.

Subsea 7 announced today the award of a very large(1) contract by Woodside(2) to Subsea Integration Alliance(3) for the Sangomar Field Development Phase-1 project located in the Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Offshore Deep oil blocks, offshore Senegal. This contract was initially awarded in December 2018 subject to final investment decision, which has now occurred.

Subsea 7 today announced changes to the Executive Management Team, effective from 1 January, 2020. John Evans is now in place as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Jean Cahuzac who retired at the end of 2019. Jean remains on the Board of the Company as a Non-Executive Director.

In the early hours of the 23rd of December, an urgent inquiry was received from a Phoenix client requesting a proposal and timeline for a dive team to mobilize immediately to international waters 12 miles from the city of Auckland, New Zealand. The situation was complicated as the vessel had undergone an underwater inspection in a previous port with the subsequent report and findings forwarded to the New Zealand Government for review prior to entry.

Fugro has entered into an agreement to acquire CGG’s 40% shareholding in Seabed Geosolutions and to terminate the Seabed Geosolutions’ joint venture agreement effective December 30, 2019 in exchange for a cash consideration of USD 35 million, paid by CGG before year-end 2019.

Kership, a joint venture founded by Naval Group and Piriou, and specializing in military shipbuilding, has selected iXblue navigation solutions to equip the three new offshore patrol vessels (OPV 87 type) being built for the Argentine Navy. The Marins inertial navigation systems and Netans data distribution units (DDU) will provide the navigation for these three future ships.
