IQUA Robotics and Partners Awarded the PLOME Research Project

A scientific team led by the University of Girona (UdG) will develop an underwater platform to intelligently monitor marine ecosystems in real time. The project is called “Platform for Long-lasting Observation of Marine Ecosystems” (PLOME) and is carried out jointly with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), the Universitat Politècnica de Madrid (UPM), the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM-CSIC) and the company Iqua Robotics SL.

Fugro’s Geo-data Supports the Development of Denmark’s Largest Offshore Wind Farm

Fugro has begun geotechnical site investigations at RWE’s Thor offshore wind farm development. The collected Geo-data will be used to inform the design, fabrication and installation of the main wind farm components including turbine foundation, inter-array and export cables. With a planned capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW) Thor will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm to date, producing enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of more than one million Danish households.

Port of Aberdeen Welcomes First Vessel to South Harbour as Construction Continues at Pace

The Port of Aberdeen welcomed the first commercial vessel to Aberdeen South Harbour on Saturday 2 July, as construction of the £400 million port expansion continues at pace. Subsea 7’s Seven Atlantic dive support vessel berthed at Dunnottar Quay to change over the crew, offload project equipment and stock up on provisions after completing inspection, repair and maintenance work for EnQuest. The vessel will return to South Harbour later in the month for annual routine maintenance.

Maersk Drilling Awarded One-well Contract with Shell in the UK North Sea

Maersk Drilling has secured a contract from Shell UK Ltd for the provision of the harsh-environment jack-up rig Maersk Resilient for the drilling of the Pensacola well in the UK sector of the North Sea. The contract is expected to commence in the second half of 2022, in direct continuation of the rig’s previous work scope with Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM), with an estimated duration of approximately two months.
