Ocean Startup Challenge Returns with up to $1.4 Million for Ocean Innovators

The Ocean Startup Project has launched its second Ocean Startup Challenge. Up from last year’s $350,000 in prize money, the 2021 edition of the competition will award up to $1.4 million to ocean innovators and entrepreneurs from rural, Indigenous, and urban communities across Canada and internationally.

Maersk Drilling Secures One-well Contract Extension with Total in Suriname

Total E&P Suriname, Suriname Branch has exercised an option to add the drilling of one additional appraisal well in Suriname’s Block 58 to the work scope of the semi-submersible rig Mærsk Developer. The contract extension has an estimated duration of 100 days, with work expected to commence in end-May 2021 in direct continuation of the rig’s previously agreed work scope. The contract value of the extension is approximately USD 20m, including integrated services provided.

CGG Awarded Equinor OBN Imaging Contract in Brazil

CGG has been awarded a major contract by Equinor for the seismic imaging of its Bacalhau 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey covering 409 sq km currently being acquired in Brazil’s deepwater Santos Basin. Final products for the fully imaged dataset are expected to be delivered within ten months after the survey is scheduled to complete in May 2021.
