OPT announced today the acquisition of Marine Advanced Robotics, Inc. (MAR), a San Francisco Bay Area -based developer and manufacturer of autonomous surface vehicles (ASVs). C-Kore Signs First Brazilian Contract with TechnipFMC for Petrobras’ Mero 1 Project

C-Kore Systems recently signed a contract with TechnipFMC in Brazil for delivery of their sub-sea testing tools for the Mero 1 project, in which Petrobras (40%) acts as Operator of the Libra Consortium, formed by the companies Shell Brasil (20%), TotalEnergies (20%), CNODC (10%) and CNOOC Limited (10%), with Pré-sal Petróleo S.A. – PPSA, as the manager of the Production Sharing Contract. The C-Kore tools will be used to perform the subsea electrical verification of the umbilicals after installation.

Innovo Secures Energy Technology Partnership Funding with Strathclyde University to Support Drone Vessel Development

Aberdeen-based Innovo Engineering and Construction has secured £10,000 funding from the Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) in conjunction with Strathclyde University. The funding will support a research and development (R&D) project for Innovo’s innovative autonomous eco-robotic wind, solar and hydrogen fuel cell powered surface vessel – Oceandrone.

Seaway 7 Awarded the Third Phase of the Dogger Bank Development

Seaway 7 ASA is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a sizeable (1) contract by Dogger Bank Wind Farm for the transport and installation of monopile foundations and transition pieces on the third phase of the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, Dogger Bank C. The company will utilise their specialist Heavy Lift Vessel Alfa Lift, and offshore installation will commence in 2024 following the installation of the Dogger Bank A and B phases. The contract award is subject to Dogger Bank C reaching Financial Close by the end of 2021.

Fugro’s Blue Essence, an offshore certified uncrewed surface vessel (USV) with an electric remotely operated vehicle (eROV), will begin its first project in the Netherlands. Houston University's Falcon in Pipeline Leak Solution

A breakthrough in leak risk detection at oil pipe flanges comes from research by the University of Houston using a Saab Seaeye Falcon robot as a development platform. Called SmartTouch, the solution involves integrating innovative robotic manipulator controls into the Falcon that provide multiple stress wave sensors for touch-based inspection of bolted joints, along with the latest structural health monitoring and inspection technologies. Video cameras and scanning sonars are also integrated into the system.

Fugro Wins Two Energinet site Investigation Contracts for Denmark’s Energy Island

Fugro has secured two geotechnical site investigation contracts with Energinet for Denmark’s proposed Energy Island project. A global first, this purpose-built artificial island will be situated 80 km offshore in the North Sea and act as a hub connecting hundreds of surrounding wind turbines. Fugro will perform the preliminary geotechnical site investigation for the Energy Island and the adjacent offshore wind farm zone. The resulting Geo-data will be used to prepare an integrated geological and geotechnical soil model on which wind farm developers will base future tenders.

DEME Offshore Lands Project for Construction of Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Farm

DEME Offshore US LLC, the world’s leading offshore wind farm contractor, today announced that it has secured a +$1.1 Billion Balance of Plant (BoP) contract for the construction of the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project in a Consortium with Prysmian. The contract, with a total value amounting to +$1.9 Billion, has been awarded by Dominion Energy Virginia, a subsidiary of Dominion Energy Inc., to a consortium made up of DEME Group and Prysmian.

Eelume’s advanced robotic solutions have been developed with the assistance of Kongsberg Maritime, who remain a majority shareholder in the venture.
