Subsea Expo 2023 Awards and Conference Abstract Deadlines Extended

In light of recent events and in respect of the period of national mourning, the organisers of Subsea Expo 2023 have announced an extension to the deadline for award entries and conference abstracts. Global Underwater Hub, which organises the three-day industry showcase, has extended the closing date for submitting nominations for the Subsea Expo Awards and abstracts for the conference programme by two weeks to Friday 30 September.

Maersk Drilling secures additional five-well drilling work scope with Petrogas

Maersk Drilling and Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. have agreed to an amendment of the previously entered contract for the provisioning of the harsh-environment jack-up rig Maersk Resolute, under which an option included in that contract will be replaced by a newly entered five-well drilling contract which will employ Maersk Resolute to drill three wells at the A15 field and two wells at the B10 field, both of which are located offshore the Netherlands.

Subsea Data Systems Receives Grant Support From Schmidt Marine Technology Partners

Subsea Data Systems, Inc., a partnership between Samara/Data and Ocean Specialists, Inc., is pleased to announce new grant support from Schmidt Marine Technology Partners (SMTP), part of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Network. SMTP provides “venture philanthropy” funding to support the development of new ocean technologies which require sustained support to achieve full potential and availability to the broadest user base. The grant will enable Subsea Data Systems to continue development of the first complete sensor system for SMART Cable repeaters (amplifiers) that will be incorporated into future regional and trans-oceanic telecom cables.

CleanTech Acquisition and Nauticus Robotics Complete Business Combination

Nauticus Robotics, Inc., formerly known as CleanTech Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: CLAQ), today announced the successful closing of its business combination on September 9, 2022 with Nauticus Robotics, Inc. (“Nauticus”), a developer of ocean robots, autonomy software, and services to the marine industries. Nauticus’ mission is to become the most impactful ocean robotics company through the deployment of autonomous maritime systems. OceanTools Introduces New L6 Subsea Light

OceanTools, global supplier of underwater technology, add another AC lamp to their range of industry leading subsea lighting. Available as either a floodlight or a spotlight the L6 lamp has been designed to be used on underwater vehicles and installations with a 120VAC/DC supply. U.S. Navy Statement on Iranian Incident in Red Sea

Fugro Supports Italy’s Energy Transition with Renexia Survey for Med Wind Floating Wind Farm

Renexia, part of TOTO Holding, has awarded Fugro a survey contract for the Med Wind floating wind farm in the Strait of Sicily, one of the biggest renewable energy projects planned for the Mediterranean Sea, with 190 floating turbines for an installed capacity of 2.8 GW.
